If you’re looking for a more adventurous look, you might like to try the disconnected undercut haircut. The disconnected undercut is so named because the hair on top of the head is “disconnected” from the sides. It’s an exciting, modern look. You’ll want a fair amount of hair on top of your head. We recommend at least 4cm. The sides are shaved with a relatively short clipper setting on the razor (#2 through #4). If you would like a close-cut look, the edges are touched up on the neckline and sides with a #0 or #1 clipper. The hair on top of the head may be trimmed. The hair is then brushed back to complete the look.
The disconnected undercut looks best when the hair is brushed back. Using a blow dryer, push your hair backward. You can use a brush or comb to give your hair more volume. Once you’ve styled your hair backward, apply some product to hold it in place. A standard wax will work well.
