How to beat dandruff

It’s a hair problem that most people don’t want to discuss, but it affects lots of men and women across Australia. That annoying, itchy scalp with the snowflakes, dandruff. You don’t need to stress too much about it. There are a few easy, at home solutions you can try to limit the dandruff blues.

Cool it down

When washing your hair, use warm water rather than hot. Better still, finish your hair washing with cool or cold water. Also, if you’re using a hairdryer, don’t use it too close to your scalp. All the additional heat will dry your scalp.

Product is for your hair – Not your scalp

Well, of course. Getting styling products onto your scalp can also dry it out. Avoid putting product at or near the roots of your hair.

Zinc can help

Shampoos that contain Pyrithione Zinc can help soothe the itchiness, irritation, and flaking caused by dandruff.

Nature’s antifungal treatment

Tea tree oil has been used for centuries to treat a variety of skin conditions, and can help clear up mild to moderate dandruff.
